Training, Education & Outreach

The Center for Post Traumatic Growth provides outreach, training, and education that will facilitate the reintegration of veterans, first responders, and their families into the community and promote greater understanding in the general public about their experiences and our mutual responsibility to heal the wounds of those who serve us.

Interested in Becoming Trained to Implement Our Group Therapy Program?

To further our goal of providing excellent psychotherapy services to the populations we serve, we will educate and provide ongoing consultation to other mental health professionals. We are currently developing a training program for mental health professionals, and as Continuing Education providers with the American Psychological Association, and the National Board for Certified Counselors. The training program will include ongoing consultation so that this model of therapy can be available to others across the country.

Moral Injury Consultation Group

Interested in Moral Injury?

Frustrated with the lack of literature on how to treat Moral Injury?

Perplexed about how to help those suffering from Moral Injury?

Join the staff of the Center for Post Traumatic Growth and other practitioners interested in Moral Injury and its treatment for a weekly consultations group. Our group of providers are committed to treating issues beyond Posttraumatic Stress. We meet to discuss treatment challenges, present cases, and work together to develop innovative ways to address the unresolved loss, guilt and shame of those suffering from Moral Injury.

The cost to participate is $50 dollars per session. The money raised by the CPTG will support continued treatment of those with Moral Injury and their families, training of practitioners to treat Moral Injury, community education about Moral Injury, and investigation of effective treatments for Moral Injury. Contact Dr. Keenan at mkeenan@centerptg.org for more information.

Volunteer & Peer Programs

Giving Back

The Center for Post Traumatic Growth was founded on the belief that healing requires connection between people and that it takes a compassionate community to succeed in healing the wounds of trauma and war. Beyond financial support, at the CPTG we have developed two ways that you can become an active member of our healing community.

Peer Support Program

As we have served veterans over the last 18 years we have learned that for veterans to fully heal they must reconnect with themselves, with others and with their communities. Because trauma shatters one’s sense of self, many veterans have lost their belief in themselves as worthy individuals, their efficacy as human beings, and in their ability to be a meaningful part of society.

Therefore, we have developed a peer certification program where we will train interested veterans who have completed our full treatment program and family members to become peer mentors who will assist us in supporting veterans and their families through the process of treatment and also in delivering these vital services to our clients.

Amazon Smile Program

The Center for Post Traumatic Growth now participates in the AmazonSmile program. AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon with the same products, prices, and shopping features as Amazon.com. The difference is that when you shop on AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice.
