MSW Clinical Intern
Mr. Salvador Palacio is an Army Combat veteran who served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the war on terrorism. Mr. Palacio was honorably discharged in July 2007. He was the President of the West Valley College Veterans Resource Center where he helped fellow veteran students get connected with the Department of Veterans Affairs to receive health, educational, and disability benefits. Mr. Palacio earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from Sacramento State in May 2016. During his time at Sacramento State, he volunteered at the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency, co-facilitating groups to help people struggling with alcoholism and addiction. Mr. Palacio interned and worked at the San Jose Vet Center for the Department Veterans Affairs as a Readjustment Counselor, helping combat veterans suffering from mental health issues due to combat trauma and readjustment challenges. Currently, Mr. Palacio is a clinical Social Work Intern at the Center for Post Traumatic Growth. He is expected to obtain a Master's in Social Work (MSW) with an emphasis in military affairs, assisting veterans and their families at the Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work at the University of Southern California in August 2019.
